Union: Used to disassemble your pump and filter easier and quicker. |
3-Way Valve: Used to divert water from one direction to another by turning the handle. |
90 Degree Elbow: Try making a turn with rigid pipe! This little fella makes it much easier. |
45 Degree Elbow: The kid sister to the 90 degree, only not as "harsh". |
Coupling: When you run out of pipe and need to run another section of piping, a coupling joins the two pieces seamlessly. |
Check Valve: Prevents water from going back the way it came from and also helps to keep the pump full of water so it doesn't need to be reprimed. |
Return Fitting: On the inside of the pool, water returns to the main body of water after being run through the filter system for cleaning. These can either be screw-ins or glue-ins and come in a variety of opening sizes. |
Brass gate valves are still in use today, although not as popular as they were many years ago. They are used to open and close off the flow of water. |
